July 2014 Raya Short Trip

Selamat Hari Raya, kepada saudara dan juga saudari *im singing in my head*

Alright guys, so here i am for the 1st time at Singaron Village for Raya Celebration. My sister and i drove to Singgaron Ranau and the road was too gravel.

It was my aunty husband hometown and they have open house that day, we ate alot especially the lemang.. Yumm..

We headed to the nearby river to experience fish massage and also mandi sungai lah bha kan..

Then unplanned last minutes stay at Kinabalu Heritage Hotel, we got agent price cause of being tour guide which is about rm160 per night, luckily they still have rooms, usually hotel would be fully booked on Raya.

The next day, we stopped by Nabalu Village and rumah tabalik, and thats the end of our trips.

29 June- 3 July 2014 Bangkok Trip

Bangkok trip 29/6-3/7/14

Here is some of the tips

  • From dong mueng airport to Mo Chit BTS (Bangkok Train Station), take A1 bus, cost rm3/30bath only. Very convenient.
  • Chatukchak near Mo Chit BTS (must go, alot of food choices and shopping)
  • MBK Mall near National Museum BTS (alot of cheap stuff)
  • Platinium Mall and Pratunam Market- Very good deal and alot of choices, ideal for those that want to get wholesale price.
  • Siam BTS is the centre bts that connect to mrt and other bts station.
  • Near to centra world, and siam paragon shopping mall. (Suggest to live near here)
  • Take BTS to Saphan Taksin and board for free shuttle boat to Asiatique (happening place)
  • Patpong- Big night market with few bar/pub and have sexy girl show/pingpong show near Si Lom mrt 
  • China town- Alot of chinese people, selling mostly foods. Near Hua Lam Pong BTS Station.

Recommended Foods- Pork and Egg Stew with Rice,
Mango/durian sticky rice, beef noodle, noodle with red soup, pad thai (like char kue teow), bbq pork stick, huge durian, thai main dishes(almost all tasted good! By far the thai restaurant in Asiatique fulfil my tastebud) and alot more to choose.
It makes me remind of taiwan street foods.

Things to buy:

  • Printed t-shirt (can be found anywhere and as low as rm5)
  • Heels at MBK mall (6inch super nice heels as low rm40 per pair) 
  • Bikini (alot of cute design and cheap, one set about rm40)
  • Thailand bags- naraya, elle, alot of brand/locally handmade and cheap
  • Handicraft/souvenir, can be found anywhere
  • Beauty product- alot of brand to choose from.
  • Phone/tab case- as low as rm5
  • (Lowest price can be found in chaktukchak market & pratunam market)

Things to do:

  • Night market
  • Watch a show- Girl show/pingpong show/ gogoboy show/ ladyboyshow
  • Follow a tour
  • Floating market
  • Shopping
  • Massage (as low as rm25 per hour
  • for thai/foot massage)
  • Fish spa (as low as rm10/rm15 for 20mint)

Transportation:

  • Metered taxi- pink and green
  • Bts skytrain
  • Mrt/subway
  • Public bus
  • Tuk tuk (not recommended, you can try for different experience) 

Exchange rates on June 2014 RM10.2 = 100baht

We have joined two days tour and 2night accommodation with AK HOUSE coast about rm120 per night, my friend recommend it to me as it is opened by Taiwanese, so you can expect Chinese speaking tour guide. This was my very 1st Bangkok- Hua Hin- Pattaya experience, it was very enjoyable and foooodd+shopping paradise for me.
